Repairing cracked, decayed, and damaged teeth

Ceramic dental crowns play a crucial role in smile restoration. Their durable yet aesthetic design protects weak or compromised teeth by placing a protective cover over their entire surface. Our Santa Rosa dental crown restoration process is one that preserves your natural oral function while also maintaining an aesthetically attractive appearance.

Today’s porcelain crowns are extremely durable. Through state-of-the-art material advancements, we can predictably restore broken and damaged teeth. Some of the most common tooth injuries to receiving dental crowns are broken, chipped, or cracked teeth. Following crown treatment, you can smile with confidence and enjoy all of your favorite foods once again.

The advanced materials in today’s dental crowns allow us to restore broken and damaged teeth in a predictable manner. The results are both functional and natural in appearance. Everything from the contour to the shade of porcelain selected allows your restoration to blend seamlessly with its neighbors.

Reasons To Invest In A Dental Crown

Unlike dental fillings that go inside of teeth, crowns go around them. The protective outer shell safeguards the compromised structure underneath. If your tooth was damaged enough that everyday biting and chewing could break it apart further, then you need a dental crown.

Crowns are typically suggested for teeth with:

  • Prior root canal therapy
  • Aggressive fractures or enamel wear
  • Deep areas of decay
  • Large leaky fillings

Porcelain crowns are also used alongside dental implants when replacing individual teeth. The crown serves as the visible, functional “tooth” set on top of the implant abutment.

Dental Crown Procedure

To ensure an extremely comfortable experience for our patients, our dental office in Santa Rosa utilizes digital 3D scanning and virtual impression technology. These tools improve the crown planning experience and eliminate the need for gooey, messy impressions. Your digitally precise scan is securely transmitted to our lab, which further expedites the experience.

Generally, the crown treatment is segmented into two phases. The first (prep) appointment will include adjusting your tooth’s shape and taking the 3D scans. A temporary crown will safeguard you from any sensitivity while the permanent one is being crafted. About two weeks later, you’ll return to our office for the second (placement) appointment, where everything is permanently bonded into place.

Dental Crown Cost

The cost of dental crowns in Sonoma County varies, based on the materials used and how it’s designed. Without dental insurance or financing, prices for ceramic crowns may range anywhere from $800 to $3,000. Costs vary from person to person depending on the situation, which is why an exam is always required before diagnosing specific types of treatment needs. With insurance benefits applied, the price of a crown is often reduced to 50% (depending on the type of plan you carry, and any deductibles involved.) To further minimize out-of-pocket expenses, flexible financing is always available.
