Safe, comfortable, anxiety-free dental care through sleep dentistry
Past experiences, sensitive teeth, and extensive oral health needs can affect a person’s comfort level in the dental office. If you suffer from dental anxiety or have had negative interactions with previous dentists, a phobia can stand between you and the care you deserve.
As a licensed sedation dentist in Santa Rosa, Dr. Sutton strives to provide a pain-free atmosphere and relaxing experience for each patient. When you feel at ease, we’re able to provide a comfortable and efficient process to restore your smile to optimal health.

Types Of Dental Sedation Available
Various levels of sedation dentistry allow you to choose the one most appropriate for your situation. Some are lighter, while others provide the deepest relaxation available. Depending on the type of treatment you need and what your goals are, you can select from sedation options like:
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
This light analgesic is an inhaled sedative that can be added to practically any scheduled procedure. Nitrous oxide takes effect within a few minutes. You’re fully conscious the entire time but will feel a bit tipsy. The best part about laughing gas is that it’s quickly reversible with no lingering effects, so you can drive yourself home afterward. Laughing gas is great for routine dental cleanings, fillings, or more comprehensive treatments for our patients who are generally comfortable in the dental office.
Oral Conscious Sedation
Oral sedation provides a deeper, moderate sedation state for optimal relaxation. Although you’re still conscious, most people feel as if they’re taking a light nap. The amnesic effects prevent you from remembering much (if anything) about the appointment at all. However, you’ll still be able to answer brief questions or instructions. Most of our dental implant and full mouth reconstruction appointments are completed under oral sedation. Oral conscious sedation makes it possible to plan multiple procedures within a single visit, reducing your overall time spent in our practice.
General Anesthesia
Should you require extensive rehabilitation and expert therapies, we can plan to have a board-certified dental anesthesiologist come into our practice and administer general anesthesia. Often patients would need to go to an offsite surgical center or medical facility to receive this level of care, not with Santa Rosa Dentistry & Implant Center. We can take care of your anesthesia needs in-house, often saving patients time, money and stress. We strive to create a seamless experience from consult to treatment for all patients.
New Patient Smile Program:
Includes all exams, X-Rays, and 2 general hygiene cleanings per year for $299.
