While you will remain awake and able to respond to questions, you will feel deeply relaxed and may have little to no memory of the procedure. It’s important to arrange for transportation to and from your appointment, as the sedative can impair your ability to drive.
- General Anesthesia: General anesthesia is recommended for patients with severe anxiety or those undergoing extensive dental procedures. An anesthesiologist will be present to monitor your vital signs and ensure your safety throughout the procedure. With general anesthesia, you will be completely unconscious during the treatment, which helps manage significant dental fear and allows for extensive work to be completed in one visit.
